Update

Here is an update on the catolympics, from The Big Piney Woods .
.
All things are going as planned. The outdoor arena is almost complete; bleachers are being painted in the viewing area. There will be a viewing area in the inside of the track for the lighting of the cauldron, which will be removed and put back in place for the closing ceremonies. You can see the cauldron to the right, which will be lit by our own Mistrie, who has the final leg of the journey. The main oval of the track is 1000 feet around for speed racing. The judge's booth is at the start line right now for the speed racing, but it is movable for different events. Events held in the center are hairball hurling, high jump, litter throw, and yowling, marked by a pink circle. The climbing tree is marked with a green star. All participants will wait in the area shaded in gray.

During opening ceremonies, there will be a moment of silence for all the kitties who have crossed over to Rainbow Bridge, including those from Hurricane Katrina. Special words will be said for Grandpa Norton, Silas, Crystal, Fergus, Eppy and Pebbles. (If I forgot any, please forgive me, and let me know; we have only been blogging since late December.)
